Water is a vital resource for Europe’s food, energy, and economic security. With increasing pressures from climate change, population growth, and industrial demands, water resources are under significant strain.

As Europe seeks to enhance its competitiveness and resilience while addressing climate and social goals, a transformative approach to energy has become more urgent than ever.

The Code4Europe initiative focuses on promoting digital and green skills, with an emphasis on supporting women in pursuing digital careers. EU-ASE’s role involves integrating energy efficiency into digital networks and learning resources.

The European Union (EU) is at the forefront of energy efficiency, leading the way in setting ambitious regulations such as the Energy Efficiency Directive and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.

On February 6, the European Commission published the communication on the 2040 climate target accompanied by an Impact Assessment (IA). It recommends that the EU cuts its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by a net 90% by 2040.

In the past political mandate, the EU has pursued legislation to combat climate change, restore nature, and promote circularity, aiming for climate neutrality by 2050, as part of the European Green Deal.
